When should I book hospital newborn photography?


Once your baby is born, you simply send me a message, and your session is scheduled during your hospital stay.


If you are delivering your baby at Norwest Private Hospital sessions are designed to fit naturally into your recovery time, capturing your baby's first moments without posing, pressure or leaving your room.

Can newborn photos be taken in the hospital after birth?


You can decide when you are ready for your baby to have their newborn photos, this is entirely your choice and no pressure if you are not feeling up to it. Recovery is the most important part during this time, and we want to make this moment easy and relaxed.

Does my baby need to be 48 hours old before we can have photos?


Not at all. Hospital newborn photography can take place anytime during your stay. Whether your baby is only hours old or a couple of days into life.

Every birth and recovery is different, so sessions are intentionally flexible and guided by how you and your baby are feeling. Some families choose photographs the morning after birth, while others prefer to wait until feeding has settled and everyone feels a little more rested.


Because I photograph regularly at Norwest Private Hospital, sessions are simply arranged around your recovery and my visiting days.

Do you come directly to the hospital room?


Yes! I am at Norwest Private Hospital over three days, Mondays-Wednesdays and Fridays, I pop into each room to introduce myself and let families know about hospital newborn photography and in home sessions after discharge.


All sessions take place in the comfort of your hospital room. Using natural window light and a documentary approach, I capture your baby exactly as they are- peaceful, real and unposed. So, you can relax while those first precious moments are recorded naturally.
